Liz Barker is a devoted mother of 4 young children and a steadfast advocate for our public schools. With all her school age children presently enrolled in Sarasota County Public Schools, Liz has a deeply personal investment in the success of our schools. Drawing on her career experience as a school psychologist, Liz understands how to integrate data-driven interventions and supports to close the achievement gap and promote student success.

Currently, Liz uses her educational expertise to volunteer in classrooms, serve as PTO president and member of the School Advisory Committee, and advocate at school board meetings for all staff, students, and families. Liz knows what needs to be done to protect our schools from those who seek to disrupt, divide, and distract us from our shared mission.

Together we can find common ground–taking politics out of the decisions about our children’s education–so that we may focus on what is truly important: student success.
